"PER/se isn't trying to go big, but rather trying to go deep."

We're at the end of a chapter

We need to get writing - the next chapter in Earth's future is being penned this very moment. We get to decide the story arc - if we're willing to get creative, that is...

About Hardeep

Hello, I am H.

In one line:

A narrative designer; a packager-of-life-enriching ideas combining big thinking with beauty and poetry; creator of immersive experiences and host of deep conversations.

In one paragraph:

With a background in literature and a passion for conscious living, I’m a storyteller, designer, and creative entrepreneur who bridges big ideas with impact. After years in fashion, high jewellery PR, and co-founding a design studio, I have developed a creative practice that helps organisations and individuals craft stories and experiences that are aligned with regenerative practices, purpose, and human potential. Through consulting, mentoring, curation, design, and writing, I empower and provoke others to go deeper than they thought was possible, to unlock personal and collective thriving.

In a series of paragraphs:

Since I could read, I have been swallowed whole, one book after another. Fear not, it's not as painful as it sounds. At this point I have travelled across thousands of worlds into the minds of hundreds of writers and thinkers. Books raised me. They built my inner landscape, they sharpened my intellect, they cultivated my empathy. So, it was natural that I would study Literature at university, which I extended by undertaking a Masters in Shakespeare in History. I wanted to go the roots of a seminal time in English, European, and world history, which continues to influence the modern day.

Studying the Humanities allowed me to slip into plural narratives from economics to philosophy via colonialism and psychology, and to try on a dizzying array of perspectives; they taught me to apply critical thought to ideas, to see what (un)truth they may be illuminating. I learned the power of a well turned phrase, a reasoned argument, a soul-drenching burst of transcendent poetic expression. It also allowed me to forge a deep kinship with myself - dedicated study is often an endeavour of solitude, and I made close friends with my own company.

In the world of work and I channeled my love of story into many forms: from fashion journalism (WWD, FT, Vogue, The Times), to high jewellery PR (Cartier), then to consumer investment for a start-up,  I co-founded a fashion brand nom de mode, and finally created of my own creative studio in 2016, per se.

After years of crafting other people's stories, I decided to start writing my own. I launched per se with my twin sister, to design everyday objects with the ethic of conscious living. We would create just one item at a time, for a limited run. Focusing on a single item comes from the conviction that it takes just one idea, person, moment, or object, to have a profound influence on the self, and others. Designing for longevity, intention to care deeply for what we create and 'consume', and made in the UK, we wanted to model what it means to create a conscious business which uses design a means of re-ensouling relationships to 'things.'

A few years in, I saw that we were at 'peak stuff' and my story-telling turned into the realm of words and experience design. We have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to good ideas and practical solutions to create a thriving civilisation, but we're not connecting at a deeper understanding that we each have a role to play in our collective flourishing. Planetary flourishing may sound grand, but it really means creating the conditions for each person to reach their potential, in collaboration with the rhythms of the Earth.

This is when per se became less a solo practice, but a hub for collaboration and amplification of life-affirming ideas.

I reimagined my creative practice from solely creating physical products to crafting stories across a range of mediums: in-person experiences, exhibitions, books, audio - that encourage us each to go deeper, to then go further in our individuals and collective evolution, further. Cue The Architecture of Contemplation - a space to contemplate the big themes of life and create unforgettable experiences, and Age of the Steward - a social moonshot for our times and beyond.

Everything created is a labour of love, joy, and hope.

Let's tell a better story, together. For a better tomorrow, today.

Always,

H

Metallic Waves

People are multi-variate, with untapped potential for problem solving.

We thrive through interdependence, co-operation and shared knowledge.

No knowledge is beyond reach, but only asking the right questions will unlock it.

Start with first principles thinking using fundamental, source data, no extrapolations, opinions, or agendas.

Assume that the past contains as much wisdom as the future.

Long-term thinking comes with giving a sh*t.

Everyone has a stake in the future of our planet.
